Joe Ferrigno becomes sole Senior Clerk at Essex Court Chambers

26 July, 2018

The members of Essex Court Chambers are delighted to announce that Joe Ferrigno has become Essex Court Chambers’ sole Senior Clerk as of 1 July 2018, following David Grief’s appointment as Director of International Business Development.

With a career in Chambers already spanning more than 35 years, Joe Ferrigno’s vital contribution to Chambers’ strategic development will continue, as will his first-rate clerking service to both members and clients.  Joe was promoted to Joint Senior Clerk in January 2016, bringing him together with David Grief to lead Essex Court Chambers forward. Joe has worked tirelessly to increase the breadth and depth of Chambers’ work and to enhance its reputation across all practice areas. Joe is regularly praised for his commitment to clients and has been described as “the best of the best in the clerking world – he’s someone whose judgement you trust implicitly.

Joe will have overall responsibility for the strategic management and development of all members’ practices, whilst retaining his central role in the administration of Chambers and all aspects of its marketing and development.

Joe commented: “I feel enormously privileged to have worked closely with David Grief for over three decades. It is an exciting time for me professionally and I am committed to enhancing Chambers’ exceptional position as the Commercial Bar faces new challenges and new opportunities.

David Foxton QC, Head of Chambers, commented: “The clerking at Essex Court Chambers will be in excellent hands under Joe Ferrigno’s leadership as Senior Clerk. He has a wealth of experience and expertise, and an outstanding reputation for client service and business innovation.
