Edinburgh International Arbitration Festival

The Scottish Arbitration Centre will host Scotland’s inaugural international arbitration festival on 21 and 22 September. The themes of the conference will be ESG and emerging technology and implications for arbitration and geographical diversity in arbitration, with a focus on smaller states.

Alison Macdonald KC will moderate the forth panel of the main conference taking place on Friday 22 September.

The panel will be on ISDS and whether it enhances or inhibits the development of the rule of law in emerging seats. Does the ability of investors to bypass local courts militate against the development of the rule of law?
