Members of Chambers are pleased to announce that Edward Batrouney has joined Essex Court Chambers. Ed joins Chambers from the Victorian Bar in Melbourne.

Ed brings with him 12 years’ experience as a commercial litigator. He has acted as sole counsel and as part of larger counsel teams in high value commercial disputes, class actions, international arbitration, insurance, regulatory matters and commissions of inquiry. In 2020, 2021 and 2022 Ed was recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a leading commercial litigation and dispute resolution junior barrister in Victoria, Australia. Prior to commencing at the Bar in Australia, he practised as a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London.

He has a tremendous international reputation and will add breadth and depth to Chambers core areas.”

Ed says, “I am very pleased to be joining Essex Court Chambers, where I look forward to continuing to focus on commercial litigation and international arbitration, and building on the experience I have gained in Australia.”
