Court blocks Friends of the Earth’s challenge to 2015 emergency authorisations for pesticides

Hugh Mercer QC and John Robb, instructed by the National Farmers’ Union, successfully intervened in support of Defra to resist a challenge by way of judicial review to emergency authorisations under the EU pesticide regulation to use two neonicitinoid seed treatments on the 2015-2016 winter oilseed rape crop in the areas of England most at risk from cabbage stem flea beetle.
