Professional practice

Freddie is developing a broad commercial practice in line with Chambers’ profile. His work covers a range of practice areas, including arbitration, banking, commodities, insurance, media, art, and entertainment, and shipping. He frequently appears in the High Court, County Court, and Employment Tribunal.

In Autumn 2019, Freddie spent three months on secondment as a High Court Judicial Assistant. He assisted Commercial Court judges on the full spectrum of Commercial Court work, including s. 69 Arbitration Act appeals, freezing injunctions, anti-suit injunctions, Norwich Pharmacal and Bankers’ Trust applications. As a result, he is particularly well-placed to advise clients on how the Court is likely to approach matters.

Freddie also acts in public law and employment law matters, and is a member of the government’s junior juniors scheme. During his time as a Judicial Assistant, he assisted Administrative Court judges on a number of judicial reviews. He is also an Assistant Editor of the European Human Rights Reports.

Before coming to the Bar, Freddie studied History & Politics as a Scholar at New College, Oxford, where he graduated ranked second in his year, and was awarded the Gibbs Prize in Politics. He then completed the GDL and BPTC at City University, as a Lord Denning, Lord Haldane, and Hardwicke Scholar of Lincoln’s Inn.
