Toby Landau QC appointed Board Member of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC)

As of 1 January 2012, Toby Landau QC has been appointed to the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (the SCC).

The SCC is one of the world’s leading arbitration institutions.  It originally came to prominence in the 1970’s, as a centre for the resolution of East-West trade disputes.  It has since developed as one of the most important and frequently used institutions for international commercial and investment disputes. 

The SCC Board is composed of one chairperson, two or three vice chairpersons and a maximum of 12 additional members, all of whom are distinguished and highly qualified experts in international dispute resolution.  The Board plays a key role in the administration of arbitrations under the SCC Rules, including decisions regarding prima facie jurisdiction; appointment of arbitrators; challenges to arbitrators; and arbitration costs.

SCC Board Members are appointed by the Board of Directors of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce for a three year period, and are eligible to be re-appointed for one further three year period.
