Essex Court Chambers’ Richard Millett QC and Toby Landau QC have been selected, in a list of only 12 barristers, for The Lawyer’s Hot 100 list 2018. The legal publication today unveiled its Hot 100 list for 2018, which recognises the profession’s brightest stars “acting on the most significant matters, disrupting the industry with their creative flair”.
Richard Millett QC is currently involved in some of the biggest pieces of litigation and arbitration in the London and offshore market. He has a strong BVI and Cayman practice, and acts in and advises on high-value, complex commercial claims. In July 2017, Richard was appointed as leading counsel to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.
Toby Landau QC is a leading practitioner specialising in international and commercial law, and in particular international and commercial arbitration. He has argued numerous ground-breaking cases before courts at all levels in England, as well as in many other jurisdictions, and regularly appears in major international arbitrations worldwide. In 2017, he became the first English QC to be admitted to the Singapore Bar on a permanent basis.
