Are you an undergraduate not studying law but considering a career at the bar and unsure where to start?
Essex Court Chambers are pleased to announce its inaugural ‘Non-Lawyers Day 2011’ to include a series of workshops, talks and lunch where non-law students will be given the opportunity to meet members of Chambers and to learn about life at the Bar. The day is scheduled to take place on 23rd March 2011.
The intention of the day is to allow those attending to:
- Gain an understanding of the process of converting from non-law subjects at degree level, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere;
- Learn about the scholarships and funding available;
- Get a flavour of life in one of the leading sets of commercial chambers before you make important decisions about your next academic steps.
Places for this event are limited, and if you are not offered a place, this should by no means be taken as any reflection on your chance of success at the bar or indeed of obtaining pupillage at Essex Court Chambers. We particularly welcome you to apply for mini-pupillages in the future.
Applications will be accepted from 6th December 2010, until 31 January 2011. Please apply with a CV and covering letter to:
