Mrs Justice Andrews appointed Lady Justice of Appeal

Members of Essex Court Chambers are pleased to announce the appointment of former member of chambers, Mrs Justice Andrews as Lady Justice of Appeal.

Dame Geraldine Andrews DBE was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1981 and became a member of Essex Court Chambers on completion of pupillage in 1983. She took Silk in 2001 and was appointed a Recorder on the Midland Circuit in the same year. She was approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge in 2005 sitting regularly in the Queen’s Bench and Chancery Divisions of the High Court. From 2010 she sat as Deputy High Court Judge in the Administrative Court. On 7 October 2013, she was sworn in by the Lord Chief Justice, as a Justice of the High Court assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
