Iain Quirk QC elected to ChBA Committee

14 July, 2022

Iain Quirk QC has been appointed to the Committee of the Chancery Bar Association, following an election and voting of its entire membership.

Iain specialises in arbitration, commercial and chancery litigation, and sports law. He has a specialist practice before the Chancery Division, in significant unfair petition cases and shareholder disputes, as well as offshore. He has expertise in the growing area of crypto and blockchain, and spoke at a major conference in Dublin in May this year on crypto disputes.

Iain was invited to speak at the recent ChBA offshore conference in the Isle of Man earlier this year on reflective loss. He will also be running the Company Law workshop at the forthcoming ChBA Annual Conference in January 2023. Iain has participated for a number of years in the CLIPS scheme and seen how well received that is by clients and the judiciary alike. As a relatively new silk and with a broad practice, Iain aims to bring a new and different angle to some of the more traditional chancery topics. He will be encouraging greater cooperation between the commercial and chancery areas of the Bar, and their bar associations, and arbitral institutions such as the ICC and LCIA, with joint events and initiatives that better promote these complimentary areas, here and overseas.
