Professional practice
Camille completed her pupillage in September 2024. She is developing a practice across all Chambers’ areas of expertise.
Camille joins Chambers from private practice, having worked in the international arbitration and public international law team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Paris. She initially qualified as a solicitor in Australia, practising in commercial litigation at a leading international law firm. She has experience in international commercial arbitrations under a range of arbitral rules, including the UNCITRAL, SCC, LCIA and ICC Rules, and in investment arbitrations, including before ICSID tribunals. Camille also has experience in proceedings before the International Court of Justice, the European Court of Human Rights, and United Nations treaty bodies.
Camille holds a Master of Law (First Class Honours) from the University of Cambridge, where she was awarded various prizes, including the Whewell Prize in Public International Law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Human genetics) from the University of Queensland (Australia).
Prior to joining the Bar, Camille was a judicial assistant to Justice Keane of the High Court of Australia and to Judge Tomka of the International Court of Justice.
She has taught the Master’s course on Negotiation at Université Paris Nanterre and has lectured on international law in Australia and France.

- Acting for an energy company in parallel ICSID and SCC arbitrations against Georgia in respect of an energy tariff dispute brought under the Georgia-Netherlands BIT.
- Representing an international organisation in four consolidated arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules regarding the provision of goods and services in Africa.
- Representing an international food services company in a post-M&A arbitration governed by Turkish law in relation to the acquisition of a restaurant franchise in Turkey.
- Acting for a venture capital fund in two LCIA arbitrations for the recovery of debts owed under financing agreements.
- As a solicitor, representing an Australian mining company in an international arbitration concerning a joint venture over a copper-gold project in Papua New Guinea.

During pupillage, Camille gained exposure to fraud claims and related proceedings, including committal proceedings, jurisdiction challenges, WFOs, and anti-suit injunctions.
- Commercial dispute resolution
- As a solicitor, representing the Special Purpose Liquidators in their successful application to freeze $200 million of a former director’s assets (Supreme Court of Queensland).
- As a solicitor, defending a State-owned entity in a class action alleging negligence in relation to flood management services (Supreme Court of New South Wales).
- As a solicitor, representing the Department of Defence in a class action relating to alleged chemical contamination of land (Federal Court of Australia).

- Acting for the applicants in M.M. v Latvia concerning allegations of pushbacks and unlawful detention at the Latvian-Belorussian border, currently before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights (led by Naomi Hart).
- Assisted Women for Justice Organisation Afghanistan on legal reform projects directed towards combating impunity for human rights violations against women, girls and marginalised groups in Afghanistan (2020).
- Assisted the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention on various matters, including drafting its General Comment on ‘Women deprived of their liberty’ (A/HRC/48/55) (2016-2020).
- Advised the International Service for Human Rights on issues pertaining to retribution faced by human rights defenders as a result of their cooperation with UN bodies (2019).
- Provided assistance to Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights on projects pertaining to women’s rights in the global south and Muslim-majority countries, including to repeal discriminatory laws in Afghanistan and to support test cases pertaining to gender-based violence (2016-2020).
