Sir John Thomas, a former member of Essex Court Chambers, has been appointed Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales and will be sworn in on 1 October 2013.
Sir John was a member of Essex Court Chambers for 25 years prior to his appointment as a Justice of the High Court, Queen’s Bench Division in 1996.
