Appeal dismissed in snooker match fixing case

22 May, 2025

On 13 May 2025, an Appeals Committee of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association issued its decision in respect of an appeal by Mark King.

On 7 November 2024, a Disciplinary Committee of the WPBSA found Mr King guilty of one count of match fixing and one count of providing inside information on his match played against Joe Perry on 13 February 2023. It rejected separate allegations in relation to a match against John Higgins on 13 December 2022. Mr King was suspended from the sport for 5 years and ordered to pay £68,299.50 in costs.

The Appeals Committee rejected Mark King’s appeal against that decision. The decision can be found here.

Daniel Fox acted for Mark King in the appeal, instructed by Ben Rees and Charlotte Last of Napier Sterling Law.
