Edward Brown KC has been named “Lawyer of the Week” by The Times following the decision of the Court of Appeal in T, Wayland and others v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions (available here).
The case concerned a temporary measure introduced by the Government in the context of the Covid pandemic and lockdown. The Government introduced an increase to Universal Credit which was not extended to other benefits and challenged as being discriminatory and contrary to the Appellants’ human rights.
