The ECC-SAL International Mooting Competition 2017, co-organised by the members of Essex Court Chambers and the Singapore Academy of Law, presents an ideal opportunity for young lawyers to showcase and hone their skills as advocates. Now in its 6th year, the contest is open to young advocates and has received entries from Australia, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore and South Korea.
This year, the competition has received a record number of applications and will be contested by teams between 7th and 11th January 2017. The Final will be presided over by a panel of experienced international judges presided over by Justice Quentin Loh of the Singapore International Commercial Court.
The winning team will be offered an all-expenses paid two-week internship at Essex Court Chambers in London, one of the leading commercial sets of barristers’ chambers in England. Awards will also be given for the Best Orator and Best Memorandum submitted in the competition.
