The High Court yesterday granted an injunction to pharma group AstraZeneca to prevent a former senior executive from starting at GSK. The executive held several senior roles at AstraZeneca and was due to start today at GSK with responsibility for development across the group’s therapy business. The High Court granted an interim injunction enforcing a non-compete agreement over to a trial in October 2022. The decision again underscores that courts will intervene on an urgent basis to protect legitimate business interests.
